Model by model, in one honest line each
- S2 ($741) — the entry point: side-panel controls instead of a remote, but the same instant heating as the flagship. If you sit within arm's reach of the panel and don't care about user presets, save the money.
- S5 ($932) — adds the slim remote and 2-user memory. The right call for couples who want different pressure/position presets.
- S7 ($1,826) — the step into EWATER+ bowl misting, night light, and 4-user memory. Elongated bowls only.
- S7A ($2,005) — the S7 plus the auto open/close lid — and quietly the only top-tier Washlet that fits round bowls. If you have a round bowl and flagship taste, this is your only TOTO.
The discontinued models still on shelves
Retailers are still selling the old lineup, usually below list. The honest math on each:
| Legacy model | List / typical street | Buy it, or its successor? |
|---|---|---|
| C2 | $771 / ~$500 | Only if the discount is steep — the S2 costs less at list and its instant heating never runs cold. Tank heating is the C2’s real limitation. |
| C5 | $891 / ~$550 | Same story: the S5 upgrade is instant heat. A deep C5 discount is fine for quick-wash households. |
| S550e | $2,012 | The S7A replaced it and costs about the same at list — buy the S550e only well under $1,500. |
Before you order any of them
Two fit checks: your bowl shape (30 seconds with the Seat Match tool — note the S7 and K300 are elongated-only), and a 120V GFCI outlet within cord reach of the toilet. No outlet back there? An electrician visit comes first, or the non-electric route costs a tenth as much. Cross-shopping brands? The TOTO vs Brondell head-to-head is where TOTO's premium either earns itself or doesn't.
